Apache, this is an easy fix. You need to uncrew it again. Pull the lock nut up and look at the end of your cable. See the slotted end? Now look down into where it goes into the engine. See how the there is a slot hole there too? The slotted end of the cable must fit inside the slotted hole. Now, screw the nut back on with your fingers. Then, wrap a rag around the nut(so you don't damage it) and use vise grips or channel lock pliers and fasten it down very tight. This should cure your leak. Good Luck. Ride Safe.
